Is there a dictionary API for Android? -

i working on android application in have display meaning of word when selected. how kindle does. understand, there no google api yet (https://code.google.com/p/google-ajax-apis/issues/detail?id=16)

could please let me know if there way achieve this! know how kindle dictionary works!
